During the filming of this cockpit scene from the movie Airplane!, Peter Graves insisted on ad libbing all of the dialogue spoken to the young actor playing Joey. The Zucker Brothers were a bit taken aback by how enthusiastic Peter Graves was to shoot this scene and by Graves’s constant requests to re-shoot it.
